Parking
Because of Saint Mark’s recent property acquisitions, our parking will be changing over the next few months. The Property Planning Committee is working as quickly as possible to complete the process required to demolish these three buildings on Juniper so that we can have a new dedicated parking lot. We will let you know of other changes in our parking possibilities as soon as we learn them. Watch for other updates and than you for your patience.
Free parking (with a Saint Mark Parking Sticker) is available in the parking lot at the corner of Juniper & Fifth Streets on Sunday mornings 8 am - 1 pm and on Wednesday evenings 6-10 pm. Any other time, regular fees apply as described on the pay box in the lot.
Until demolition begins, additional church parking is now available next to the red brick house located at 768 Juniper Street. Enter this lot from Juniper Street and use the pedestrian gate to get to the church.
Free parking (with a Saint Mark Parking Sticker) will continue to be available in the parking lot beside the 805 Peachtree building for Saint Mark events.
Street parking along Peachtree and Fifth is always available on Sunday mornings, but not at other times.
Please remember that on Sunday’s the lot directly behind the church must be reserved on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights for the elderly, those who are disabled, and families with young children.
If you need a Parking Sticker, please see an usher on Sunday mornings or contact the church office, office@stmarkumc.org, 404.873.2636.

14th Street Bridge to Close May 27, 2008 until 2010
Use of Transportation Alternatives Greatly Encouraged
As part of the 14th Street Bridge Improvement Project, Techwood Drive between 16th and 10th Streets will close to traffic on February 9, 2008, and will remain closed until summer 2009. Drivers traveling southbound on I-75 or I-85 wishing to access 14th or 10th Streets will be detoured to 17th Street. The Georgia DOT will also be encouraging vehicles traveling south on I-75 to exit at Northside Drive. These closures are a necessary part of the ongoing project to replace the 14th Street Bridge that, when completed, will provide greatly improved access and mobility for Midtown residents, workers, and visitors.
On May 27, 2008 until Summer 2010, the 14th Street Bridge will be closed to traffic. Motorists will be detoured to the 17th Street Bridge during this period.
Midtown Transportation Solutions, a program of Midtown Alliance, is working diligently to provide assistance to employers and commuters to mitigate the additional congestion expected from the 14th Street Bridge Improvement Project. A recently completed traffic analysis shows that we must remove at least 10% of the vehicles accessing Midtown during peak commute times to prevent Midtown from becoming grid locked. This is a major challenge that will require the efforts of everyone, but there are many steps that employers and commuters can take to achieve this 10% goal. Please contact MTS, mts@midtownalliance.org, 404-892-4782 today to find out what you or your company can do.
