Youth Ministry

Serve on Youth Council
The youth council provides leadership and direction for our many youth Ministry and programs. We meet every other month on the second Tuesday of the month.

Teach Youth Sunday School
Saint Mark offers two Sunday school classes for youth: middle school and high school. Though we have wonderful teachers who regularly lead, we are in need of substitutes so our regular teachers can get a break every now and then. All curriculum is provided.

UMYF Counselor
Positive Christian relationships are the foundation of a healthy youth program. UMYF counselors work with our youth group either every Sunday or twice a month. The main role of a counselor is to be a mentor and a model for the youth as they journey into their faith. Sometimes all we need is someone to participate and be present. We also want you to share your gift and story with the youth through programs and discussions.

Transportation to Youth Events
Our youth need transportation to special events and for “off-site” programs. This would involve driving youth both to and from an event, and, if you want, participating in the fun times for free :-)

Youth Missions
Our youth seek to be regularly involved in mission projects both with the church at large and on their own. We need people to help plan and coordinate these projects and to work alongside the youth during mission events.

Special Events
Our youth regularly plan special events like retreats, lock-ins, parties and other events geared at time for fellowship and spiritual formation. We need people to help plan and coordinate these events. Often times active presence is what we need most. This is a concern for both Safe Sanctuaries compliance and for the broadening of our Youth’s community of Adult Christian models.
