You are invited to an Open House on January 2, 3-10pm, at the home of Larry Lucas (4053 Brenteresa Court, Snellville). This event was originally scheduled for January 1 - until we realized that January 2 is the day for all football games. Stop by, play games, watch football and old movies on TV and enjoy fellowship with your church friends. Soups, sandwiches, desserts etc. will be offered - everyone is welcome! For more information, contact Larry Lucas, 404-409-2847. Group Holiday Schedules The Saint Mark Grief Support Group will resume at their regular time (6:30-8pm) on Tuesday, January 3, 2012. Questions? Contact Rev. Josh Noblitt. The Job Network will resume their weekly meetings on Tuesdays, on January 10, 2012, 6:30pm. Wednesday Fellowship Dinners and Beth’s Bible 101 class will resume on January 18, 2012. The dinners will be provided by a new caterer. The first program of the year will feature Rebecca Burns, author of Burial for a King; Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Funeral and the Week That Transformed Atlanta and Rocked the Nation. Year-end Giving Remember that any gifts to the church that you would like to be credited for 2011 must be received by the church no later than December 31, 2011. If you need assistance with any special gifts such as stocks, please contact Deana Hilton in the church business office, 404-873-2636 x12. Also, it is not too late to turn in your 2012 pledge card. Church Office Holiday Schedule The church office will be closed the week of December 26 - 30 and Monday, January 2. No Remarks will be published the week of January 3. Financial Peace University Returns Once again, Saint Mark is pleased to offer Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University, a life-changing program that teaches you to achieve your financial goals by eliminating debt, saving for the future, and giving like never before. The 13 week program will be facilitated by Rev. Josh Noblitt and Richard Rhodes, and it will meet every Sunday from 1:30-3:30pm beginning Jan. 8, 2012. Cost is $99.51 per household. In Sympathy Saint Mark expresses heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of Julie Semones on the death of her mother on Tuesday, December 27, in Atlanta. Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 31, 11 am, at A.S. Turner & Sons in Decatur.
