Instrumental Ensembles

Saint Mark Ringers

Established in 1996, the Saint Mark Ringers perform regularly for the Saint Mark church services and in concert in the Atlanta community. They have the distinct honor of having appeared in concert at the Georgia Governor’s Mansion and on television. This remarkably talented bell choir rehearses in the McDowell Music Suite at Saint Mark on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m., performing various AGEHR levels of music. The bell choir is made up of musicians both advanced and beginning, who enjoy sharing their love of music, the challenge of preparing and rehearsing pieces for performance and the camaraderie that is unique and special to performing groups. Musicianship and proper bell technique are stressed during each rehearsal, benefiting the ringers as they perform not only with this ensemble, but other groups at Saint Mark and also in the community. New members are always welcome to this ensemble. If performing is not interesting, then there are the Saint Mark Ranglers. These are a group of individuals who are an integral part of a Fines Arts ensemble without having to play or perform. The Ranglers assist the Ringers on performance Sundays with the equipment and are encouraged to attend rehearsals to become Ringers. Saint Mark Ringers and Ranglers - something for everyone!

Saint Mark Brass

Established in 2002, the Saint Mark Brass is a volunteer ensemble of Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone and Tuba players (Brass Quintet), which participates in services providing voluntaries, as well as accompaniment for choral music, hymn singing, and major concert efforts during Christmas and/or Holy Week and Easter seasons. Weekly rehearsals are Saturday mornings, 10:00 a.m. in the McDowell Fine Arts Center. Membership requires at least high school and/or college/university ensemble experience.

Saint Mark Winds and Strings

The  Saint Mark Winds and the Saint Mark Strings are both a dream for the future. If you would like to help us make these a reality either by participating in these ensembles, or if you have ability and desire to assist with the formation and leadership of either of these groups, please let us know.
