Children’s Ministry
Children’s Ministries stays very busy at Saint Mark United Methodist Church, especially on Sunday mornings.
Families at Saint Mark come from around the metro area and beyond. Just about every type of family imaginable is found at Saint Mark, as well as open minds, open hearts and open doors!
Jesus said, Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. Matthew 19:13-15
Sunday Mornings
Gathering Time: On Sunday mornings at 10:10 am, everyone in the Kaleidoscope, Discovery, Beginner, Primary, and Intermediate classes meet FIRST in Room 102 (The Children's Choir Room) for singing and announcements before being dismissed to their classes at 10:20. The sign-in sheets for these classes are on the table just inside the gathering room door. You will need to sign-in your child before leaving him/her in Gathering Time.
Sunday School Classes for Children: The Sunday School classes begin at 10:20 am and end at 11:00 am. If you arrive after the 10:10-10:20 Gathering Time, please take your child directly to his/her classroom. You still will need to sign-your child IN. At the end of the Sunday School time, you are expected to pick up your child (we do not allow children to leave on their own or to be picked up by an older sibling or friend) and to sign the child OUT. This helps ensure safety and the best care for our children.

The infant and toddler rooms offer age appropriate playscapes, toys and visuals, and there is always appropriate supervision based on the number of children attending. We employ professional child care workers who are trained to provide safe and loving care for our babies and toddlers. The nurseries are equipped with a paging system. Child caregivers include 2 paid workers in the room with parent aides.

Children who are 5 years old and beyond remain in the sanctuary for the full worship service. We do not provide child care for children 5 and up. If you have a concern about your child remaining in the sanctuary, please contact Kim Sorrells for details about your child’s participation.
