Receives Diversity Award
Mike Beecham was awarded the 2007 St. Mark Diversity Award for his work with CHRIS Kids Rainbow Program. Five years ago, Mike began Seasons of Love to help provide funding to support the program. His involvement not only met an immediate need in providing financial support to this worthy group, and the program has grown not only to continue that financial support, but also to make thousands of Georgians aware of, and sympathetic to, the existence of and needs of homeless GLBTQ youth.
Our Rights, Your Rights, Human Rights
Thanks to everyone who helped make Saint Mark's 2007 Diversity Week successful! It was really hot (but at least dry!), and Saint Markers turned out in record numbers for the Diversity Dinner, Diversity Worship Service, and Pride Sunday Service. For those who volunteered in any capacity, from assisting at the dinner, to helping sell t-shirts, to volunteering at the park, or marching in the parade and to those who supported through their financial contributions, we are grateful. Saint Mark certainly proved that “all are welcome in this place.”
In addition, Saint Mark took home SECOND PLACE in the Non-Profit Category at the Atlanta Pride Parade.  This is the second year in a row that we have had an award-winning entry; last year we garnered First Place! Congratulations to everyone!!!
