Reconciling Ministries Network

Reconciling Ministries Network is a national grassroots organization that exists to enable full participation of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities in the life of the United Methodist Church, both in policy and practice. The RMN is an independent, not-for-profit organization with no official ties to The United Methodist Church. The RMN is overseen by a national board of directors and guided by staff persons in the RMN office in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Having said that it is not officially United Methodist, however, it is a part of the Methodist tradition of social concern and action, a justice-seeking, Spirited people.

Soulforce

Soulforce promotes freedom for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people from religious and political oppression through the practice of relentless nonviolent resistance. The mission of Soulforce is to cut off homophobia at its source -- religious bigotry. Soulforce uses a dynamic "take it to the streets" style of activism to connect the dots between anti-gay religious dogma and the resulting attacks on the lives and civil liberties of LGBT Americans. We apply the creative direct action principles taught by Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr. to peacefully resist injustice and demand full equality for LGBT citizens and same-gender families.

This web site is dedicated to ministering to the gay and lesbian Christian community (GLBT) and to the friends of our community. The site features one of the largest gay Christian bulletin boards and gay welcoming Christian church directories in the world. The site includes a large section of articles dedicated to helping a gay person reconcile their faith with their sexual orientation and a web magazine with articles on a wide range of subjects. Articles and features are offered in English as well as Spanish. In addition there is an online art gallery which meditatively focuses on various scriptures in the Bible. Check the site often as new material is added on an almost daily basis.

Friends Committee on National Legislation

The Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL) is the largest peace lobby in Washington, DC. Founded in 1943 by members of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), FCNL staff and volunteers work with a nationwide network of tens of thousands of people from many different races, religions, and cultures to advocate social and economic justice, peace, and good government. FCNL is nonpartisan.
