OPEN DOORS at Saint Mark

Open Doors at Saint MarkSaint Mark’s new community outreach and awareness program began June 6, 2009. OPEN DOORS is designed to be an on-going OPEN HOUSE to the community at large and to our current members and congregants and will take place each Saturday, 11:30 am to 1 pm.

Visitors will be greeted by our volunteer Saint Mark Ambassadors and invited to tour the sanctuary and chapel areas, enjoy the sounds of our mighty Aeolian-Skinner Pipe Organ, learn of the history of Saint Mark, marvel at our beautiful stained glass windows and altar rail kneelers, or simply pray and meditate in a peaceful, spiritual setting. Printed handouts of information will include worship schedules, outreach ministries, groups and wedding information will be available as well as a guest book and donation box.

Volunteer opportunities for our members and congregants are also available; click here to volunteer.

If you have already joined us for Open Doors and would like more information about Saint Mark, start with Visitor's Information. If you have a question about Saint Mark, please contact the church office.

So, what's in Open Doors for Saint Markers?

  • Spend some quiet time praying or meditating.
  • Show off Saint Mark and its history to your weekend guests.
  • Show a potential member the beauty of Saint Mark before going out-to-lunch at a midtown lunch spot.
  • After grabbing a Starbucks coffee at Peachtree and 7th, stop by and visit with the OPEN DOORS Ambassadors.
  • During the Christmas season, have your Christmas card photo made in the Sanctuary with all of the beautiful decorations in the background.
  • To get into the mood for a Christmas party or Christmas shopping, stop by to view the decorations and hear the beautiful Christmas music played by the organ.
  • During the Easter season, have a family portrait made in a sea of Easter lilies.
  • If you have a friend that loves architecture or history, bring them by for a tour.

Everyone is welcome! If you are out and about in Midtown on a Saturday, please feel free to stop by and visit.
