Join us on Halloween (Thursday, October 31st) from 5:30 pm-7:00 pm for a family-friendly trick-or-treating experience. There will be candy, games, face painting, a bouncy house, and, of course, CANDY! If you would like to donate a bag (or bags of candy, please drop your donation off in the bin located either in the Narthex or in the bin located outside the Children's Ministers' office. If you would like to volunteer to help out at the event, or if you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to get in touch with Madi Dunn at mdunn@stmarkumc.org

The Choral In-Service aims to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for individuals interested in singing in church settings. We will be meeting September 27-28 to rehearse and fellowship. Whether you currently sing, have sung in the past, or aspire to sing in a church choir of any denomination, this event is open to all! For any questions, reach out to our Fine Arts Director, Nick Joslin at njoslin@stmarkumc.org

The highlight of the weekend will be the culminating event—a choral service of Evening Praise and Prayer. This enchanting service will feature the collective talents of all participants, showcasing the progress made during the workshops. It will be a celebration of sacred choral music, bringing together voices in harmony to create a memorable and uplifting experience. The offering gathered at this service will go toward the food club of Saint Mark United Methodist Church.

Without debate, General Conference has removed The United Methodist Church’s ban on the ordination of clergy who are “self-avowed practicing homosexuals” — a prohibition that dates to 1984.

Video from Pastor Carolyn who was on the floor of General Conference immediately after the 40-year ban was struck down.

As a United Methodist Church we are proud to be a congregation with open hearts, open minds, and open doors. We strive to be a congregation that embodies God’s absolute love and hospitality, proclaiming Jesus as our savior and as our model of the ultimate embodiment of God’s love. We believe that all persons are of sacred worth and dignity as part of God’s good creation. Saint Mark United Methodist Church welcomes all persons into the full life and ministry of our congregation, regardless of race, culture, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, family, or socioeconomic status, physical or mental ability, or faith history.
