What is our style of worship?

We are considered a more ‘traditional’ style of worship. We sing hymns accompanied by an organ and our phenomenal choir, we pray liturgies together (don’t worry - they are always printed in our bulletin!), we hear scripture lessons, and have a sermon.

On the first Sunday of every month, we celebrate communion. Our communion table is an open table, meaning you do not have to be a member of Saint Mark, the United Methodist Church, or even a Christian to come to the table. We believe that many have met God's grace at the table for the very first time.

What are your worship times and do you live stream?

We have two services on Sundays. One at 9:00 am and one at 11:00 am. The 9:00 am service is shorter in length but includes communion each week. The 11:00 am service, held in our historic sanctuary, includes our chancel choir.

We do live stream the 11:00 am service. You can find our services currently live streaming on our Facebook page, and posted to our YouTube page by the following Monday. We operate under a CCS Music License #10792 .

Are your services live streamed?

Yes, our 11 AM service is live streamed on both Facebook and YouTube.

Where should I park when I come to church?

We are located at the corner of Peachtree St. and 5th St. in Midtown Atlanta. Parking is available directly behind the church in our parking deck under The Hadley Apartment Complex at 770 Juniper Street.

Parking is free for church events and available for public parking at market rates during other times of the week.

For navigation purposes, the entrance to the parking deck is 121 Fifth Street, Atlanta, Georgia 30308.

For more information, please visit our Parking page.

I heard Saint Mark welcomes all. Is that true?

All are welcome at Saint Mark! Let us elaborate: whether you are gay, lesbian, straight, bisexual, transgender, asexual, pansexual, polyamorous, or any other gender identity or sexual orientation, you are fully welcome to participate in the life of this church. We believe everyone is a child of God and everyone is welcome here.

What do people wear to Saint Mark?

We’re a wonderfully inter-generational, urban church so you will see a nice mix of any and every attire at Saint Mark. Some folks like to show up in suits, others show up in their t-shirts and jeans. We don’t care what you wear, we’re just glad you decided to be with us!

I’d like a nametag. How do I get one?

If you need a Saint Mark nametag, contact Robert Gilleo in the church office at RJGilleo@stmarkumc.org.

If you don’t have a nametag to wear today, please use a blank one. Ask an usher for assistance.

Do you have a nursery?

Yes, our nursey for infants and toddlers is located on the first floor of the Education building on Sunday Morning.

Hearing & Visual Aids

Ask an usher at the entrance to the sanctuary for Enhanced Listening Devices and large print hymnals if needed.

Ephesians 2:10, which tells us, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (NIV)

Ephesians 4:11-12, tells us “He handed out gifts of apostle, prophet, evangelist, and pastor-teacher to train Christ’s followers in skilled servant work, working within Christ’s body, the church, until we’re all moving rhythmically and easily with each other, efficient and graceful in response to God’s Son, fully mature adults, fully developed within and without, fully alive like Christ.” (The Message)

Both passages affirm that every believer has an important role in the life of the church, and that every believer is called to serve in the body of Christ. There are no exceptions! Everyone has a role that contributes to the overall well-being and flourishing of the church. We have all been given the gifts for the building up of the body of Christ.

What role might yours be? What ministry might you be gifted to do? What gifts of the Spirit might you have? I invite and encourage you to think about this as you go through the coming week. Pray about it. Ask the Lord to reveal to you what you can do. If you are unsure of what your spiritual gifts are, click below for a Spiritual Gifts Inventory that can help you identify your gifts. Whatever your talents and gifts are, they can, and should, be used to do the good work that God has set in place for you to do in and through Saint Mark.
