Organs of Saint Mark
Sanctuary Organ
Our historic sanctuary features an Aeolian Skinner instrument originally installed in 1969, and upgraded in phases between 1998 and 2002. This instrument has 3 Manuals and 51 ranks.
Chapel Organ
The chapel organ was given in loving memory of Caroline Radford Brooks and dedicated on August 28, 2005. Caroline was a long time member of Saint Mark who was active in many areas of the church, including Sunday School, the Women’s Society for Christian Service, and Wednesday Fellowship Dinners. Outgoing and friendly, she was loved by all who knew her. Caroline and her husband raised their sons, Jim and Tom, at Saint Mark.
The console shell was retained from the previous 1948 Reuter organ, installed when the chapel was constructed. There are new keyboards, tilting tabs and a combination action. Keys have bone naturals and tracker touch. There are two balanced facades and cases which house the Great and partial pedal on the left and the Swell Division on the right. The front façade pipes are painted and the pedal reed is polished copper.
The organ originated at the Protestant Radio and Television station in the 1970s. When the building was sold, the organ was removed and rebuilt for Saint Mark by Phil Parkey of Parkey Organ Builders. This organ has 2 Manuals and 17 Ranks, and is designed to accommodate regular services, weddings and funerals.
